One of my bucket-list items was to drink Belgian beer in Belgium, so you can imagine how thrilled I was to be sitting on a patio, drinking beer on my 51st birthday in Brugge, Belgium. Of course drinking beer wasn’t our only experience. After four days in Brugge, we took the train to Ypres to cycle the infamous Ypres Salient, the territory where some of the most horrific battles of World War I were fought. I have chosen this experience from my travel blog to share and would recommend that you see these deeply moving places for yourself.
