Mangaia
Cannibals in drag: Musings from Mangaia, is a story I wrote for the CBC Literary Non-Fiction contest in 2019. It is based on real events from 2006 when my wife took and impromptu flight to Mangaia with no expectations and no planning. When you chose adventure travel, you inevitably experience good days and bad days and some days, good and bad can change by the hour.
